CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
The CGC class is a great way to prepare your dog for behaving responsibly around other people, dogs and distractions.
The goal of CGC testing is to put everything you've learned together in preparation for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification (the test is optional) The CGC program is deigned to promote polite dog behavior at home and in the community. Canine Manners Level 3 is required, or you dog must know sit, down, stay, and walk nicely on a leash. You may also get discounts for lodging, home insurance coverage for dogs that typically prevent coverage, and other benefits by having a CGC dog.
Canine Good Citizen Class

The is a five week class that prepares you to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen class, administered during the last week of class. The cost of the testing is included in the class, but does not include registration with AKC.
Class covers: Accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, loose-leash walking, walking through a crowd, sit down, stay, coming when called, calm reaction to other dogs and to distractions, and supervised separation.

What to bring to class: cotton or leather leash, (no flexi leads) treats and brush or comb for grooming.

Length: 5 weeks, 1 hour per week. Week 5 includes CGC testing
