Dogs in Heat and Sick Dogs

Bitches in season may be asked to stay home for their and the other dogs’ safety, depending on the mix of other dogs in your class. Please contact us to see whether your dog can attend class while she is in heat. If permitted to attend, please make sure your dog is wearing panties. If your dog is unable to attend while she is in season, please come to class without her.  No dogs in heat are allowed in a dock diving class until they are completely finished with their cycle.

Do not bring sick dogs into the facility, including other dogs from the household that are exposed to a sick dog.  If your dog has kennel cough, please do not bring them to the facility until two weeks after coughing has ended.  You are welcome to attend class without your dog in the event your dog is ill or in season.

CLASS REGULATIONS

  • CoVid-19 procedures must be followed.  Go to Links to read policy.

  • Instructors reserve the right to excuse any dog/handler team which may be a danger to themselves or others, is not in control, seems ill or injured, or is disruptive to the class.

  • It is expressly understood that students alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs, any children and guests.  Any student whose dogs, children, or guest create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior, may at the discretion of the management or other For The Love of Dogs representatives, be asked to remove the offending dogs, children, or guests from the property.  No refunds of fees will be made in such a case.  Children not handling a dog must be supervised by an adult other than the dog's handler who takes full responsibility for them.  Children should never interact with another dog without prior approval from that dog's owner or handler.

  • A responsible adult must attend class each week if the handler is under 18 years of age.  For children under the age of 14 handling a dog, please contact us prior to registering to get approval.

  • Dogs need to be kept quiet when they are not working.

  • Dogs must be kept leashed at all times unless directed by the instructor or within the barn hunt ring, on the diving dog or in the pool.

  • Dogs should be healthy and up to date on vaccinations per your vet's recommendations.  Dogs are required to be current on rabies, parvovirus and distemper vaccinations.  We accept titers for dogs who cannot be vaccinated.  Bordetella is also highly recommended.  Annual fecal exams or a current deworming schedule are required to address internal parasites.

  • Please wear appropriate, comfortable footwear for your class.  Flipflop's are not allowed in classes except for dock diving.   No wet shoes are allowed on the blue foam matting flooring.

  • By signing up for a class you consent to add your name to our mailing list.
